“For bodily exercise profits a little, but Godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8
Growing up as a needy child, Vincent remembers a ball made out of banana leaves could entertain the whole day. Back when he was the youth pastor, he was able to get a real soccer ball and started playing with the youth in the church. The Muslim kids would watch at the gate. After prayer, the Christians started playing in the community field with the Muslims. The effectiveness and the open doors to share the gospel was mind blowing. God has continued to bless this ministry allowing Midigo Calvary Football Club (Soccer club) to play professionally. The testimony of how a small village ministry has developed into a professional club causes the whole nation to question how did this happen? This affords many opportunities to share through radio, television interviews and word of mouth. God is given all the glory! The entire team are given Bibles, discipled, and prayed for, including the 60% of Muslim players. The family and community see the changes in their lives and marvel. The friendships that have developed are a clear open door and the reduction in persecution of Christians is huge. What a joy to see how God can use such a small ball to reach many hearts.
